RM 056
Chronograph Sapphire
The RM 056 was the first Richard Mille watch to sport a case cut and milled from solid blocks of sapphire. It was also the first time in watchmaking history, that such a complex case design was ever realised in this material.
Sapphire is known to be incredibly scratch resistant, and is also one of the hardest materials on Earth. It takes over 1000 hours of machining and labour to produce a single sapphire case of this quality.
The RM 056 exists as a limited edition of just 5 pieces due to the extreme requirements of its creation and development, constituting a new frontier in the history of the watchmaking industry.
