RM 047
TZP-YG Samurai
Associating art and spirituality. Creating a new masterpiece designed as an aesthetic tribute to Japanese culture. Richard Mille presents the RM 47 Tourbillon. An exclusive release of 75 pieces, the RM 47 features a stunning gold samurai armor and swords, each painstakingly hand-crafted and painted by the renowned husband-and-wife team, Pierre-Alain and Valérie Lozeron.
The engraving of each piece took 16 hours, which was followed by nine hours of hand-painting. The armor is made from 3N yellow gold and features references to the Asano clan, whom many scholars believe symbolize the true Bushido spirit. Each clan possesses a heraldic symbol, known as a Kamon, and the Asano clan’s Kamon featured two crossed falcon feathers, symbolizing strength in war and authority. This is featured on the tourbillon at six o’clock and on the winglets of the warrior’s helmet. Another key Japanese symbol, the maple leaf, used to represent grace, beauty and brevity of life, is featured on the winding crown.
The RM 47 Tourbillon evokes the spirituality and values of the bushido, while embodying a determined quest for perfection and respect for tradition.
